Juanita graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1951, and Salt City Business College. She worked as a lead in the seat installation department for Collins Industries. Juanita’s faith and family were vital in her life. She had no time for hobbies, as Juanita was always taking care of her family and friends with unconditional love. Juanita is survived by: daughters, Linda Bush of Wichita, and JoAnn Stofer of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Elaine Gaskel (Nick), Christina Frost (Doug), all of Joplin, MO, Jerry Carmichael (Diana) of South Hutchinson, and John Carmichael (Carla) of Hutchinson; brother, Marvin Jantz (Agnes) of Colorado; sister, Myrna Moore of Iola; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Jerry; son, Marvin Borntrager; brother, Harold Jantz; and sisters, Barbara Rowles and Mildred Griffin.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson, with Pastor Jerry Stokely officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

Some comment moderation is automatic with certain words and data strings effecting an immediate ban – they will never even be seen by me or other readers or commenters. I will not tolerate nor give an audience to threats or rude comments. Please allow several hours to a couple days (sometimes longer, because hey, I don’t live my life online) for your comment to be approved. Also, I do not always have time – nor the desire – to answer each and every comment. I know people like that interaction, but sometimes I just plain need to skip worrying about answering comments. Thanks for understanding.

I didn’t see a previous post, but I have been so involved in the moving and care of my own mother-in-law that I have been very sporadic online for several weeks. I’m very sorry to read this. My condolences to you and to Jerry in her passing. I’ll keep both of you in my prayers.

    Blessings,

    Betsy

CAN’T FIX IT

We don’t get to pick the trials our children (or grandchildren) go through. This is one of the hardest things about parenting (grandparenting). And I don’t remember being warned about it. It’s so hard when you want to fix it and can’t.
